Efrain Gaxiola
Dr. Efraín Gaxiola is a Chief of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Jardines Hospital de Especialidades in Guadalajara, México. He completed medical school at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and did his Internal Medicine training at Centro Médico La Raza in México City. After completing his cardiology fellowship training at Instituto Nacional de Cardiología “Ignacio Chávez” in México City, he was an Interventional Cardiology Fellow at the Univeristy of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He is a former President of the Mexican Interventional Cardiology Society and the Latin American Interventional Cardiology Society. Dr. Gaxiola has been part of TCT Faculty for more than 8 years and part of the International Scientific Committee of the American College of Cardiology. He has published more than 80 manuscripts, mainly related to atherothrombosis, coronary artery disease, oral antiplatelet agents and has written more than 15 book chapters. His early research involved risk stratification and trials of antiplatelet and antithrombotic therapy in acute coronary syndromes.
