Rebecca Aft
Dr. Rebecca L. Aft is a Professor of Surgery, Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis. She received her PhD from the McArdle Laboratory for cancer Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Aft has been the PI on multiple extramural and intramural grants as well as have been the PI on several clinic trials. Dr. Aft’s main research interest is characterizing disseminated tumor cells. These cells are intermediaries in the development of metastases. Specifically, her work focuses on molecularly characterizing these cells in order to develop new predictive detection modalities and new therapeutic interventions.
