Antonio Cruzado
Antonio Cruzado PhD, was educated at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and at the University of Washington (USA). Trained as a chemist (MSc), biologist (PhD) and oceanographer, he is currently the Scientific Director of Oceans at Catalonia International (Blanes, Spain). He also holds academic appointments as Visiting Professor of Marine Biogeochemistry at the University of Barcelona, and Professor of Chemical Oceanography at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia. Antonio has authored more then 100 chapters and articles published on peer-review and other journals and was the supervisor of 12 PhD theses. For more than 40 years he was PI of numerous oceanographic projects at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Spain), Senior Scientist in charge of UNEP’s Mediterranean Pollution Monitoring and Research Programme (MedPol), as well as Consultant to UNESCO, IOC, WHO/PAHO, World Bank and other international and national organizations. Dr Cruzado is a member of The Oceanographic Society (Charter Life), and of the American Geophysical Union.
