Amanda Johnson

Dr. Amanda Johnson is Director of Undergraduate Studies, Head of Program for the Bachelor of Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Western Sydney. She has worked in the tertiary sector since 1992. She is currently the Senior Lecturer in Aged Care for the school, and recently participated in a government reference group responsible for the translation of palliative care standards to the aged care sector. Dr. Johnson‘s PhD thesis is also in undergraduate palliative care education, and she is the recipient of a Vice Chancellor’s Excellence award in the teaching of chronic illness and palliation in 2010. In the last 12 years, Dr. Johnson’s research has been focused on aged care and palliation. She is committed to making a difference in the lives of older people, those who are dying and their families.
