Scope
The main focus of the content under this topic is to discuss the translational aspects of drug delivery systems, which can potentially affect the clinical outcome in different disease conditions. The chapters aim to decipher the rationale behind the research efforts for the design and development of cutting-edge drug delivery vehicles, encompassing active substances of diverse stereoelectronic features. Issues addressing drug distribution, pharmacokinetics, clearance, short-term and long-term biocompatibility of drug delivery systems, host response, biomaterials with growth factors for stem cell differentiation in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, image-guided drug therapy, nanomedicine, devices for drug delivery and drug/device combination products, and 3D/4D printlets, are also of high importance. Furthermore, reporting advancements in pediatric drug discovery and delivery systems is also welcome for inclusion.
