Livia Calcagni is an Architect, PhD fellow (Doctor Europaeus) in Technology of Architecture and Environmental Design in the Department of Planning, Design and Technology of Architecture, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in a joint doctoral programme (Dissertation Cotutel) with Technische Universität Wien, Research Unit of Digital Architecture and Planning on the topic of Inhabiting water as a new resilient urban frontier. In 2020, she graduated in Architecture ahead of time, cum laude and publishing dignity, with a Master's thesis focused on thermo-active plug-and-play systems for architectural regeneration. Her five-year academic record was carried out at the Sapienza University of Rome and partly at Technische Universität München earning her the title Graduate with the path of excellence. Since 2019 she has been conducting research, teaching and experimentation on topics such as technological innovation for environmental architectural design, ecological and energy efficiency of buildings, bioclimatic approach in design and environmental sustainability, urban health and urban regeneration. Teaching Assistant at the Technological Design Laboratory of the Faculty of Architecture at La Sapienza University and co-supervisor for over 5 Master theses; Consultant for National Public administrations and for the Order of Architects of Rome and Province; Member of the interdisciplinary Research-Action group at La Sapienza University on the topic of Urban Health, of the Research Group on Urban Evaporative Cooling Systems for the Ministry of Economic Development; Speaker and moderator at international conferences and tutor at national and international workshops. Winner of 8 scholarships, 2 research grants, and 2 International Design competitions (1st and 2 nd Place).Author of 2 book chapters and 3 journal articles.
