About the book

The book on " Photocatalysts" is a publication by IntechOpen publisher related to recent progress in Materials Science, especially on Quantum Dot Photocatalysis, Inorganic Photochemistry, Environmental Catalysis, and Photocatalytic Reactions. This book aims to include topics like semiconductor photocatalysis, principle, and kinetics, visible-light-induced photocatalysis, and design of active photocatalysts, Also the book will discuss self-cleaning, and removal of trace contaminants from water, decontamination and disinfection of water by solar photocatalysis and photocatalysis degradation of dyes. In addition, the book will cover some advanced topics like advances in heterogeneous photocatalysis, photoconversion processes, nanoparticle photocatalysts, water splitting, and photodynamic therapy. Moreover, this book will discuss topics like photocatalytic coatings, ceramic membrane, mechanochemical doping, and TiO2 based photocatalysts, anatase/rutile ratio, crystallization degree, the surface area, the porous structure, lattice defects and oxygen vacancy, and graphene nanocomposite photocatalysts. By the end of the book, the following topics shall be well covered: photocatalytic oxidation reactions, photocatalytic reduction, photocatalytic activities, the dual process of oxidation and reduction, LUMO and HOMO energy. This new book aims to be useful for researchers and workers in the petrochemical and drug industry.

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Expected publication date: November 29th 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Nasser Awwad

Dr. Nasser Awwad received his Ph.D. in inorganic and radiochemistry in 2000 from Ain Shams University . Nasser Awwad was an Associate Professor of Radiochemistry in 2006 and Professor of Inorganic and Radiochemistry in 2011. He has been a Professor at King Khalid University, Abha, KSA, from 2011 until now. Prof Awwad has edited four books (Uranium, New trends in Nuclear Sciences, Lanthanides, and Nuclear Power Plants) and he has co-edited two books (Chemistry and Technology of Natural and Synthetic Dyes and Pigments and Biochemical Analysis Tools). He has also published 205 papers at ISI journals. He has supervised 4 Ph.D. and 18 MSc students in the field of radioactive and wastewater treatment. He has participated in 26 international conferences in South Korea, the USA, Lebanon, KSA, and Egypt. He has reviewed 2 Ph.D. and 15 MSc theses. He participated in 6 big projects with KACST at KSA and Sandia National Labs in the USA. He is a member of the Arab Society of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine. He is a permanent member of the American Chemical Society, and a rapporteur of the Permanent Committee for Nuclear and Radiological Protection at KKU. He is Head of the Scientific Research and International Cooperation Unit, Faculty of Science, King Khalid University.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Sara Debeuc

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
