About the book

Teeth play an invaluable role in our lives. The loss of their function diminishes our capability to eat a stable diet, which has undesirable consequences for general health. Therefore, the goal of modern dentistry is to restore the patients' teeth to normal function in view of health, aesthetics, and speech; regardless to the atrophy, disease, or injury of the stomatognathic system. The advances in materials science over the past two decades have encouraged innovation resulting in robust levels of restorative options. The field of restorative dentistry is undergoing rapid transition as these new technologies come to play an increasingly central role in everyday dental practice.

This book will provide up-to-date, freely comprehensible information on the materials and equipment introduced in restorative dentistry. The readers will be able to discover supportive information on the materials and technologies used in restorative dentistry. Therefore, by linking the knowledge gap that was generated by materials technological revolution in the field of dentistry, the book subjects will meet the needs of dental students, dentists and researchers.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mr. Mateo Pulko

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
