About the book

The primary objective of the book is to discuss, on a region by region basis, the best techniques that combine traditional liposuction with other methods. Each chapter will have a similar format. Authors will describe patient selection, preoperative planning, and photo documentation. Patient positioning and anesthesia options will be the second section. The third section will discuss the liposuction part of the treatment, including tumescent infusion, traditional liposuction, cannula choice, and any variations of the first step such as PAL or Water Jet. The fourth section will focus on the enhancement—which technique or device to use to optimize tightening and skin surface smoothness. Artistic attention to enhancing a particular aspect of contour will be the next section. This will include specific regional contour goals and how to achieve it. Section six will focus on aftercare—compression garments, activity restrictions, etc. Section seven would be complication prevention and management.

The format for each chapter will be technique driven, so that readers would be able to duplicate the procedure in their own practice.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Sandra Maljavac

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
