About the book
Work in the area of ionic liquids (broadly defined and including deep eutectic solvents) continues to grow and expand at a rapid pace. Many areas of chemistry, engineering, and other scientific disciplines have witnessed the successful application of ionic liquids to solve existing problems and create new opportunities at both the academic and industrial scale. In this book, chapters will be collected focusing on various aspects of this work, broadly including their use in synthesis, catalysis, materials applications, extractions (particularly in terms of natural products, biomass, and their processing), the development and discovery of new families of ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents, and a better understanding of their properties as well as predictive tools for the rational design of even newer variants.
A combination of current new research with timely reviews of more established areas is sought to provide a current state-of-the-art perspective for those involved and those interested but not yet involved in ionic liquids, all of which will inspire further growth and development in this field.
