About the book

Mössbauer spectroscopy is very powerful tool due to its high energy resolution, which can reveal much information related to materials science, fundamental solid-state physics, chemical catalysis, biology, etc. that other instrumental techniques can not reveal. In addition, it can be affordable by many research groups compared to other extremely expensive scientific instruments. Therefore, Mössbauer spectroscopy can find many applications in science and industry. Just to name some, magnetism, chemistry, earth science, mineralogy, cultural heritage and environmental science etc. In order to present the up-to-date advances in this field, this book aims to show our readers how the Mössbauer effect can be used in many fields, how the experimental spectra can be correctly resolved, and advanced instrumental techniques (such as traditional Transmission Mössbauer Spectroscopy, Conversion Electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy, rf- Mössbauer, high magnetic field Mössbauer, high or low temperature Mössbauer Spectroscopy, etc.). The chapters in this book will be good references for the researchers working on their own Mössbauer spectroscopy.

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: October 2nd 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

About the editor

Man-Gui Han

University of Electronic Science and Technology of China

Dr. Man-Gui Han obtained his PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Iowa State University (USA) in 2004. Currently, he is a professor in the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. He is also one of the journal editors of IEEE Transaction on Magnetics starting from 2012. Up to now, he has published more than 70 peer-reviewed journals papers in the fields of magnetic materials with especial interests in the high frequency properties and applications of magnetic materials. One of his research interests is to employ the Mössbauer spectroscopy to study magnetic materials. He has established his academic reputation by finding a giant magnetostrictive effect in Gd5(Si0.5Ge0.5)4, developing electromagnetic wave absorption materials, and the realisation of negative imaginary parts of high frequency permeability by spin transfer torque effect. He has given several invited talks in the international conferences in Germany, Russia, United Kingdoms and China.
