About the book
In our book "Crustacea - Nano, Micro, and Macro Studies", we will consider the most recent knowledge about aquaculture (culture, shrimp, prawn, swimcrabs), probiotics (nanoencapsulation, microencapsulation, liberation-encapsulated, bacilli), physiology (immune system, hemocytes, immunostimulants, diseases), genetics (genes, transcriptome, taxonomy, reproducers), reproduction (sex ratio, reproductive biochemistry, reproductive physiology, fecundity) and larvae culture (larval development, feeding, diseases, technologies), among other topics proposed by the authors that should be within the main theme of the book. Nano-studies relate to nanotechnology which can observe, measure, manipulate, and manufacture things at the nanometer scale. A nanometer (nm) is an SI (System international of Unit) unit of length 10−9 or a distance of one billionth of a meter. These new materials are manufactured to have unique physical or chemical properties which arise from their small size, shape, surface area, conductivity, or surface chemistry and have found numerous applications in crustaceans. Micro-studies relate to technologies such as micro-encapsulation that have emerged to improve different parameters that lead to obtaining a product successfully fortified with probiotics. Macro-studies relate to all studies related to stages of the life cycle of crustaceans.
