About the book
The book will cover several research fields involving Bryophyta and lichenized fungi, based mainly on recent studies. It will involve taxonomy and ecology, in addition to specific studies on extreme environments and economic importance. Aspects related to preservation, rare findings, phytosociology, new study techniques, mapping, and teaching are also welcome. The association with long-term studies with climatic change and alternative work to save endangered and rare species will be also addressed. As well, the important part of the book will be the list of endangered species by country associated with alternatives/suggestions of activities to preserve them and, new laboratory studies to “in vitro” cultivation and culture collections.
The objective is to gather information on the state of the art in these fields, making it possible to attract beginners and other scientists to these fields and the preservation and rational use of endangered species. The possibility of uniting all these fields of knowledge in one book on bryology and lichenology will be unique.
