Tensile testing is one of the crucial factors for the design, manufacturing, quality control and estimation of the life expectancy of engineering products and industrial plants. Tensile testing plays a most important role in the selection of engineering materials, development of new materials and processes and quality assurance (material specification). Tensile testing is also frequently used for the prediction of the material's behavior under various types of load and environmental/application conditions. Tensile testing defines the safety factors along with cautions in engineering designs.
In this book we will try to cover most of the topics related to tensile testing.
