About the book

The goal of the book is to provide the latest advances in aircraft jet engines technology. Many of the recent advances have aimed at reducing emissions and noise as well as improving the efficiency. Advances include improvements in the performance of engine components namely the compressor, turbine, combustor and nozzle. There have been new developments in high bypass ratio turbofans to improve efficiency and reduce both noise and emissions. Advanced high temperature composite materials are being developed. New engine designs and modifcations are being planned for operations with 100% neat and blended biofuels, and synthetic kerosene. For high speed applications, there have been advances in ramjets and scramjets, pulse jets and pulse detonation engine. The research and review papers on all these and other topics relevant to jet engines are sought. The papers related to modeling, simulation and optimization of any type of jet engines at systems level as well as at component level are welcome. It is surmised that such a book compiling the authoritative chapters on variety of topics from leading experts will be of great value to both researchers and practitioners interested in jet engine technology.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mrs. Marina Dusevic

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
