About the book
Parasites are living organisms that can be found everywhere in our environment. They are a diverse group of organisms that live in or on a host and benefit at the host’s expense. Since they are subject to constant evolution (and adaptations), there is the need to continuously explore the interactions between parasites and hosts, especially in terms of the development of antibiotics, vaccines and insecticides.
Research in parasitology is necessary and indispensable for the control of this group of diseases that affect much of the world with severe consequences for the development of social groups, in many cases resulting in disability or death. The aim of this book is to show work done in this research area and trends in clinical syndromes, diagnosis, treatment, and parasitic biology.
