About the book

Landscape Architecture is a wide range of disciplines that cover landscape planning, landscape design, urban design, landscape methods and models, etc.. Landscape Architecture is the design of parks, squares, recreational areas where people spend most of their time in outdoor spaces. These areas create healthy, livable and sustainable spaces in cities. The arrangement of the landscape creates also the most demanded areas for the people. Landscape architecture should lead to an increase in healthy spaces, quality of life, and the arrangement of green areas. To ensure people's needs, landscape architecture is one of the most powerful implementations for outdoor space design and planning. That is one of the most important reasons to understand landscape planning and design to achieve a successful space arrangement. The theory of landscape architecture is one of the approaches to make more detail and forensic explanation for the field. This book project aims to be one of the main references in the field of landscape architecture implementations, design and planning approaches and also theoretical background.

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Register for the book

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: December 29th 2019

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: March 18th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: May 17th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Mustafa Ergen graduated from Abant İzzet Baysal University’s Department of Landscape Architecture in 2000 in Turkey. In 2005, he completed his first master’s degree at the Gebze Institute of Technology in Urban and Regional Planning in Turkey and his second master’s degree at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Landscape Architecture, Germany, in 2006. He studied Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania between 2007 and 2008 in Greece and was granted a specialization diploma in Environmental Management. He received the Dr.-Ing. degree at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany, in 2013. In 2005, he started his professional life at the Yüzüncü Yıl University, Turkey, as a Research Assistant. Between 2010 and 2016, he worked in the Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture at Amasya University in Turkey. Currently, He works in the Department of Architecture at Siirt University in Turkey. He speaks English fluently, he has an intermediate level of the German language, and his mother tongue is Turkish. His studies focus on cityscapes, urban and landscape planning, design, and Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Jasna Bozic

As an Author Service Manager, my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
