About the book
This book aims to educate the students of biological sciences, including veterinary, medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and biotechnological disciplines in mammalian endocrinology. We hope to cover the anatomy of the endocrine system with some details of the major endocrine glands and to provide information on the functions of various endocrine organs. We also hope to cover reproductive physiology, lactation physiology and explain the physiology of growth and meat production as well as report on stress physiology. Economic aspects of livestock production will be covered like fertility, infertility, milk, and meat production. Various aspects of stress will be highlighted like its effects on animal health and productivity, factory farming, pathways of the stress response, biological endpoints of stress, molecular and clinical indicators of stress, stress management, animals ethics, rights, and welfare. Our goal is to make a useful book for readers seeking information on developing entrepreneurship across the livestock-based food value chain.
