About the book
Swarm intelligence is one of the most prominent AI disciplines used to tackle many scientific and real-time problems. It covers a number of nature-inspired problem-solving approaches and frameworks proven of success and track record. Although the main scope of swarm intelligence focuses on modeling and optimization, there is also a stream of study in which swarm intelligence approaches are used alongside machine learning and data analytics.
The ongoing research efforts in swarm intelligence pay attention in various directions including optimization of real-world problem solving, development of fresh and efficient nature-inspired swarm algorithms, collaboration with machine learning algorithms, swarm robotics and autonomous systems, collaborated collective intelligence, etc. In this respect, agentification of individuals, which form up the swarms, is an interesting area to study in conjunction with swarm intelligence and agent-based computing.
This book aims to cover state-of-art swarm intelligence approaches as well as up-to-date advancements in the field particularly looking for studies in which machine learning and swarm intelligence work side-by-side.
