About the book
Agrometeorology is a relatively young and emerging science. The beginnings of agrometeorological work came in the 20's of the past century, when agrometeorology was a working branch of climatology. Agrometeorology is a multidisciplinary science that examines the effects and impacts of weather and climate on crops, rangeland, livestock, and various agricultural operations.
Sustainability of agricultural production system can be achieved through efficient management of agro-climatic resources and crop microclimate modification. Each and every plant developmental phase is decided by meteorological parameters. The expression of full potential of every genotype has its optimum climatic requirement. Therefore, understanding of meteorological parameters and their consequences on every stage of crop growth and on crop yield is prerequisite for researchers and farmers.
This book will also contain the information, which is useful for scientists and planners for food security to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 7, 13, 14 and 15.
