About the book
A heat pump is a piece of equipment that uses a thermodynamic cycle for heating and cooling. These systems can be large such as district-scale or small size as building scale. Recently, increasing awareness of global warming based on conventional heating and cooling activities also increased heat pumps' popularity worldwide. Because heat pumps can provide efficient and clean heating and cooling when compared to conventional methods. They can use renewable sources like thermal energy sources such as air, ground, wastewater, etc. Therefore, heat pumps have the potential to reduce building energy consumption which is 80% of total energy consumption. The progress on the heat pumps with the help of new techniques and research will be presented in this book. In this respect, this book will cover but not be limited to using alternative refrigerants, optimization of heat pump operation, modeling, alternative energy sources, waste energy utilization, climate data utilization, regulations, etc.
