About the book

Authors are invited to submit their chapters on state-of-the-art Game Design and Interaction Design technologies and case studies. The book welcomes topics of Game Design, Intelligent Interaction, Gamification, Edutainment, Serious Games and Mixed Game Modes including the Technologies that support game implementation and content delivery. Submissions may cover different aspects of the above areas. Chapters with mixed game modes and technologies are also welcomed, as they require particular game design and development practices. The unification of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Real Life with Virtual Gaming modes and the use of Agents or other supportive/instructional techniques is a subject of high interest, including the use of Artificial Intelligent Technologies. Other aspect of interest include social intelligence when applied to games, Aesthetics, Interaction and Usability.

Date completed: August 1st 2019

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Chapter proposals submitted and reviewed

Deadline Extended: Open for Submissions

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: October 21st 2019

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: January 9th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: March 9th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Ioannis Deliyannis

Ionian University

Dr. Ioannis Deliyannis is an Assistant Professor at Ionian University in Corfu. He is a member of the Faculty of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and a founding member of the inArts research laboratory. He has created various interactive multimedia systems ranging from experimental television stations featuring multiple modes of delivery to educational and multi-sensory games. He is the author of a series of journal and conference publications in the above field and a series of books targeting the experimental and creative aspects of the technologies involved. He is involved in the design of user-centred software products and services, focusing on the use of mobile sensory systems to create intelligent interactive systems, entertainment education systems, educational applications for people with disabilities, multimedia adapters, holograms, interactive navigation narrative applications, augmented and virtual reality systems.
