About the book

Neuroimaging is one of the main topics in radiology and neuroscience for probing brain normal physiology and disease alterations. In vivo brain neuroimaging with new technologies of multiple imaging modalities including MRI, PET, CT, EEG/MEG has achieved great success with high spatial and temporal resolutions. Earlier identification of key pathological signatures of diseases with advanced imaging techniques is critical for effective treatment and disease prevention. Utilization of ultra-fast and superior high resolutions methodologies and applications such as parallel imaging, connectome and PET/MRI integration in large cohort with multiple longitudinal monitoring has broaden the neuroimaging field to the new era of precise and personal diagnosis and treatment. Multi-parametric neuroimaging metrics for clinical research such as functional and structural connectivity and activity, blood flow, glucose and metabolism, as well as pathological molecular imaging are of special interest.
The contents of this book will highlight the possibility and achievement of early detection and multiple biomarkers based on various neuroimaging features for physiological probe and medical treatment. This book will hope to introduce the readers some perspectives using neuroimaging with forefront and innovative medicine applications; and will help convey the technical and developmental aspects in medicine research and development field.

Publishing process

Expected publication date: March 15th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

About the editor

Yongxia Zhou

University of Southern California

Yongxia Zhou completed her Ph.D. from University of Southern California in Biomedical imaging (2004). Her research interest is neuroimaging and neuroscience applications. She had been trained and worked as neuroimaging scientists in several prestigious institutes including Columbia University, New York University, University of Pennsylvania. and NIH. Her research focuses on multi-modal neuroimaging including using MRI/PET and EEG instrumentation and integration of these multi-modal to make best usage of each modality and to help interpreting underlying co-existing pathophysiological mechanism for better disease diagnosis and treatment. She has published several books and book chapters, over 100 papers, presentations and abstracts in many reputed international journals and conferences. And she is a reviewer for several journals and international conferences including JMRI, JCBFM, NBA, Neuroimaging, PlosOne, ISMRM and ICAD.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mr. Edi Lipovic

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
