Dr. Farzaneh Soflaei is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture. She earned her Ph.D. in Urban Design in 2013 from Tsinghua University, China, with a full scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (CSC), and also a Ph.D. in Architecture in 2006, from Azad University, Iran. She works in the field of sustainability and published in peer-reviewed journals including Renewable and Sustainable Energy Review and Energy and Buildings.

About the book

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is known as a useful concept in the construction literature and all the associated sectors. BIM adoption and implementation have been discussed within academia and practitioners over years. The advancement of various other emerging and digital technologies enhanced the capability and advantages of BIM. BIM has been used along with various tools and techniques for numerous applications. A wide range of tools and technologies are utilized by practitioners which can enhance the capability or functionality of BIM. These technologies are Interment of Things, Digital Twin, GIS, Mixed Reality, and Artificial Intelligence. This book aims to present the outcome of recent investigations relevant to BIM and discuss all possible integration of BIM with other advanced digital technologies. The scope of the book is to cover the current challenges and applications of the entire building life cycle such as design, architecture, construction, maintenance, and demolition.

This book intends to present case studies or practices which may be considered as solutions to energy minimization, productivity enhancement, quality improvements, risk management and contribute to the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Review results due: September 2nd 2022

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: November 1st 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Ghiai has obtained a Ph.D. in Architecture with a focus on Sustainability. I am currently a visiting researcher at Texas Tech University, College of Architecture in Lubbock, USA. I am also a faculty member since 2008 at Azad University, Tehran, Iran. I have both research and teaching experiences in the field of architecture. I taught different courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. I published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in various journals. I also reviewed many papers for scientific journals.
