Dr. Wu holds a Ph.D. in e-Commerce, lectures at the School of Engineering and Technology in Australia, and is a Distinguished Professor at Shanxi Normal University, China. In 2011, Dr. Wu was recognized as a ‘Top 100 Outstanding Academic Leader for China’s Informatics’ by the China Informatics Society. He was awarded "Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing" by Q1 Journals such as Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (Elsevier).

About the book

The viewpoint of research methods and business applications on electronic commerce (e-commerce) and electronic business (e-business) has dramatically changed since 2019. According to the report "COVID-19 and the future of business" conducted by IBM (2021), the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated digital transformation in 59% of surveyed organizations, and 66% say they have completed initiatives that previously encountered resistance.

With the increased use of digital technologies, the demands of contemporary business for digital transformation have made e-commerce research and applications one of the most attractive areas of business research. Various approaches, models, techniques, concepts, and strategies have been developed and adopted, such as e-commerce business models, e-commerce strategies, e-business applications, digital transformation frameworks, digital transformation cases, business intelligence systems, etc. Scholars and practitioners are today facing unique business requirements and challenges for digital transformation.

This book will aim to understand research methods and business applications in this new e-commerce era, as well as look forward to how the further research agenda for digital transformation will impact the future of business.
 

Publishing process

Book initiated and editor appointed

Date completed: April 26th 2022

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Chapter proposals submitted and reviewed

Deadline for chapter proposals: May 24th 2022

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Register for the book

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: July 23rd 2022

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: October 11th 2022

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: December 10th 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Central Queensland University

Robert M.X. Wu has a diploma in Computer Science, a bachelor’s degree in Economics, and master’s and doctorate degrees in e-Commerce. He is currently lecturing e-commerce / Information Systems at Central Queensland University Australia (CQU). He has led more than ten industry-based research projects since 2012 and contributes to reviewing five A-level Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) journals and Q1 journals. In July 2011, Dr. Wu was recognized as a ‘Top 100 Outstanding Academic Leader for China’s Informatics’ by the China Informatics Society. In 2017 he was appointed Distinguished Professor at Shanxi Normal University, China. He was also awarded ‘Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing’ in 2016 and 2018 by the Electronic Commerce Research and Applications journal (Elsevier) and ‘Student Voice Commendation – EDUCATORS of THE YEAR 2020’ for Emerging Technologies in E-Business, CQU.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Ana Cink

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
