About the book

Very-large-scale integration (VLSI) is the technology of creating an integrated circuit (IC) that allows hundreds of thousands of microelectronic components and devices into a single chip for wide spread applications including microprocessors in a computer, chips in a graphic card, motherboard, digital camera or camcorder, chips in a cell phone or a portable computing device, all portable communication devices etc. VLSI covers many phases of design and fabrication of integrated circuits starting from system definition, design and optimization, pre- and post-synthesis simulation and verification, synthesis, and multi-step semiconductor device fabrication including wafer processing, die preparation, IC packaging, and testing. The implementation is also come up with issues like parasitic effect, threshold and subthreshold operation of devices, high-speed operation, low voltage source, etc. which is needed to be solved for optimum device performance. This project aims to include the issues related to fully integrated circuits, systems and applications starting from KHz to THz band.

Review results due: February 17th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: April 17th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Mohammad Arif Sobhan Bhuiyan

Xiamen University

Mohammad Arif Sobhan Bhuiyan was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh in 1985. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 2006 and 2007, respectively. He received his PhD in Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia in 2017. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia, Malaysia. His research interest is in the field of RFID, VLSI and Wireless Communication.
