Bee products have been used for human nutrition and health for many years. Bee products such as honey, royal jelly and propolis gained importance as functional food with their nutritious features that help protect health. The composition of honey, propolis and royal jelly gives them a broad antibacterial activity range- it is effective even against antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria. Therefore they have been proven effective in treating many diseases. The book on “Honey, Propolis and Royal Jelly” will explain the purpose of them as a part of an everyday health routine and traditional use in supplementary medicine to boost the immune system and as a possible substitute for antibiotics. The book will cover chemical components of honey, propolis and royal jelly, their effects on human and animal health, clinical research and antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, geriatric and immunomodulatory activities of these bee products. In addition, their effects on medicine and toxic agents used in chemotherapy, physiologic effects on different organs and/or systems of the body, molecular and innovative research and new products produced from honey, propolis and royal jelly. Also, the book will cover the protective effects of honey and propolis on food. Standardization trial and health claims of honey, propolis and royal jelly will be also be mentioned in this book project.
