About the book

Aerobic organisms like human beings have several metabolic pathways connected to the process of obtaining energy that use oxygen as the final electron acceptor. Therefore, this is essential for the existence of the condition of life. Paradoxically, under certain conditions in which the reduction intermediaries, mainly oxygen, accumulate, so-called free radicals are produced, capable of producing damage at the molecular level, which manifests itself in various chronic pathologies.
The transcriptional factor Nrf2 is a regulator of cytoprotection - for example, of antioxidant enzymes, pro-inflammatory cytokines, apoptosis, detoxification, proliferative processes, etc. At present, it is unknown how Nrf2 is regulated, both in physiological and pathological conditions. Therefore, it is essential to understand the mechanism by which Nrf2 is regulated. This book aims to give the scientific community the opportunity to disseminate their research and readers to deepen or expand their understanding in this field of knowledge. Potential authors are encouraged to expand the list of topics as best suits them in order to present the new scientific advances on Nrf2 and its regulation in oxidative stress.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Lada Bozic

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
