About the book

In recent years, in order to ensure safe working conditions and climate favourable for productive work activities, increasingly more attention is paid to investigation of workplace mobbing and solutions of the problem. Research initiated in Sweden four decades ago went beyond the continent of Europe long ago, providing not only new evidence of the causes of mobbing, the course of the process, but also of damage to the person, his family, organization and, finally, to the whole society. There is a growing awareness that mobbing is not just a problem of employees conflicting with each other – enormous losses are experienced by both organizations and states. This promoted not only the development of preventive and intervention systems but also organization of assistance to victims at the state level, creating anti-mobbing laws. Unfortunately, despite visible progress, employees can feel safe by no means in all states and organizations. Mismanagement of organizations not only provokes mobbing in employees’ interpersonal relationships but also promotes escalation of the process, causing tragic consequences. This book is intended to present the exhaustive and extensive picture of workplace mobbing to the reader, focusing on various aspects of this phenomenon, taking into account both experiences of different countries and the situation of representatives of different professional activities. Therefore, the book will be valuable not only from the scientific standpoint but also for organizational management practitioners.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Ivana Spajic

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
