About the book

The following project is dedicated to the current trends in the most commonly used imaging modality in the diagnostic imaging - computed tomography (CT). The uses of CT significantly expanded and it replaces successfully many conventional X-ray imaging studies including the contrast-enhanced ones. It has also the leading role in many diseases, despite the introduction of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), especially in the diagnosis of emergency cases. The aim of the book is to provide a detailed practical guide in the CT examination of the whole body, to offer modern diagnostic algorithms and protocols. Another key point in our project is directed to the use of contrast agents according to their informative value and risk for contrast reactions. The CT provides detailed information for the different organs and tissues in the human body, which allows the radiologist and the clinician to identify macroscopic pathology quickly. In conclusion in the book, we aim to offer a way to understand and apply the latest techniques with a completely updated text that presents today's most recent advances in CT.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Romina Rovan

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
