About the book

Abrasive Technology is extremely important in precision manufacturing and nano-technology devices. This book aims to offer information on the characteristics of abrasive machining and abrasive machining methods, including innovative methods (for example, nano-machining). This information enables engineers, scientists, and designers to make effective use of this technology in the precision manufacturing process of various construction elements of the machines and the devices, as well as for the effective development of new techniques. Encouraged contributions include a description of the abrasive machining methods, including the properties, technological parameters, tools, machines, characteristics of a surface structure and the surface properties after this type of mechanical processes, as well as the applications related to abrasive blasting, nano-machining, grinding, polishing, honing, and lapping in various industries and other technical and technological domains.

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: June 27th 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Anna Rudawska, Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng., works as an university professor in the Department of Production Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Lublin University of Technology in Poland. She is head of the research team concerning constitution of adhesive joints in homogeneous and hybrid systems, and analysis of properties of unmodified and modified adhesive compounds. She is an author or co-author of 292 scientific publications in Polish, English, Slovak, and Ukrainian, as well as an author or co-author of monographs, chapters, and patents and patent applications. Her research activities are focused on the analysis of the influence of technological and structural factors on the polymers and metals adhesive joints strength, design of bonding technology, adhesive properties research, as well as issues related to receiving the appropriate adhesive properties in order to increase the adhesion strength of the adhesive joints. She also focuses on an important scientific issue of the surface treatment before the bonding process, using various types of surface treatments methods and surface properties of the adherends. Her other scientific domain is the physical and chemical modification of epoxy adhesives and the analysis of the properties of modified epoxy adhesives.
