About the book

Biofuels are the most awaited products of scientific research. Fossil fuels are being exhausted and pollution is increasing globally. Microbes like algae, bacteria and fungi can act as miniature factories that yield a variety of substance which have the property to act as sources of eco-friendly biofuels. Advancements in the production of the biofuels will facilitate rapid commercialization of biofuels and will lead a step to conserve our natural resources and save our environment.

The book will elaborate the unique acumen of biofuel and the associated issues. Microbial technology has enormous potential, not only for biofuels but also for food, feed, renewable chemicals and many other products that are critical for a more sustainable society. Technological developments, including advances in photo-bioreactor design, microalgal biomass harvesting, drying, and other downstream processing technologies are important areas that may lead to enhanced cost-effectiveness and therefore, effective commercial implementation of the biofuel from microalgae strategy. Improvisation in biofuels mediated by algal will pave the path for commercialization of these fuels as an environmentally friendly energy source.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mr. Vice Matušan

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
