About the book

The Nanoscience and nanotechnology fields will continue to grow due to the numerous benefits in our daily lives including human health, environmental safety, and device engineering. This will continue to encourage scientists to develop Zero-valent Iron (ZVI) or Iron oxide materials as their nanoparticles and nanocomposites have revealed many exciting and promising applications in environment, engineering, nanomedicine, catalysis, sensing, as therapeutic agents, food science and beyond. This book aims to cover the synthesis, characterization, and applications of ZVI or iron oxide materials and their composites all in one volume making it a unique reference. As a result of research and development in the area, these three aspects of synthesis, characterization, and applications have grown themselves covering many subtopics. In view of environmental concerns, green synthetic methods or improvement of existing methods to circumvent problems will be covered in detail, as will characterization methods which include current trends in spectroscopic, microscopic and diffraction methods. Lastly, as rapid development in engineering and biomedical applications attracts researchers, nanoparticle clean applications in this field will also be covered. Tremendous progress in diverse fields of nanoparticle applications demands for the updated content to be presented in a pedagogic style. Articles and reviews written by experts and practitioners from around the world are welcome. The proposed book is intended for academia, professionals, scientists, graduate and undergraduate students without any geographical limitations.

Review results due: February 20th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: April 20th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Dr. Brajesh Kumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Head in the Post Graduate Department of Chemistry, TATA College, Chaibasa, India. He received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, India. His research interests include the development of sustainable and eco-friendly techniques for nanoparticle synthesis and their applications for environmental remediation, active films of organic solar cells, nanomedicine, sensors, natural product extraction, purification and analysis, natural polymers, peptide chemistry, microwave and ultrasound assisted organic synthesis, and organic synthesis. Dr. Brajesh Kumar has held different national and international fellowships and worked as a faculty member in various universities throughout India, Ecuador, and South Korea. He has also published numerous SCI/SCIE/Scopus research articles (h index = 20, Citations 1,156) and is also an active reviewer of more than 50 journals.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
