About the book
Electrochemical devices for electrical energy storage, so-called batteries, play a significant role in a sustainable world not only because of technical advantages but also for their environmental effects. For instance, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are the key reason for developing portable electronics as well as electric vehicles. Lithium-ion batteries have been developed based on their distinctive advantages, including their high energy density and low maintenance requirements. In addition, other lithium storages such as lithium-air and lithium-sulfur batteries are also the subject of increasing interest as a result of their theoretical high energy densities. Since the storages are multiphysics systems, the developments on different parts should be reviewed. This book intends to provide a comprehensive overview of emerging energy-storage based on lithium. The book will include the recent progress on cathode, anode, electrolyte, and separators for lithium-ion batteries and other lithium storage.
