About the book

Stoichiometry refers to the relationship between the quantities of reactants and products before, during, and following chemical reactions. In other words, It connects the various chemical reactions of substrates and reagents to give the products and their reaction mechanism. The stoichiometric relationship is based on the laws of conservation of mass, energy, and the law of combining weights or volumes. During the reactions, the total mass of the reactants equals the total mass of the products, forming a ratio of positive integers, and the reaction is described by a balanced equation. The mechanism of a given reaction can be obtained from considerations of stoichiometry and sometimes can follow different paths depending on the conditions of experiments.

Stoichiometry has numerous applications, especially in organic synthesis, inorganic complexation, redox reaction, titrimetric analysis; material synthesis, green chemistry, pharmaceutical formulations, enzymatic activity, metabolic activity, drug delivery, genetic engineering, mathematical modeling, environmental remediation, agriculture, and food industries. This book will present an update of articles, addressing new findings and advances in stoichiometry in various fields. We invite world-class researchers from around the world, industry, academia, government, and private research institutions are encouraged to publish research or review articles in our book.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Elena Vracaric

As an Author Service Manager, my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
