About the book
In chemistry, biology, and physics, (a)symmetry or "chirality" is an important concept in nature. Especially, in chemistry, not only classical stereochemistry but also asymmetric organic synthesis, supramolecular chemistry, construction of bio-related molecules and molecular recognition became indispensable structural chemical keywords. In view of synthetic chemistry and its structural chemistry, chemistry dealing with chirality in relation to the more fundamental electronic state is still a minority, except for chiral magnetic materials, etc.
This book aims to compile research results, commentary, reviews, etc. that have dealt with Chemistry (organic chemistry, catalytic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, coordination chemistry), Biochemistry (Protein, DNA, sugar, medicine, drug), and Physical and Mathematical Sciences (crystallography, light, optics, symmetry, group theory, computation, modeling) and so on.
Topics about (chiroptical) spectroscopy, physical properties (magnets, conductors, non-linear optics, and so on), computational chemistry (of asymmetric organic synthesis), and/or theoretical chemistry and their discussions on chirality are also welcome.
