About the book

Breast cancer is typically a disease impacting elderly women, but the rising incidence among young women has also been noted. Several risk factors are identified, the basic one being the genetic makeup of the individual. Early diagnosis of breast cancer can help towards completely curing the disease, and the triple diagnosis remains the principal tool for the diagnosis of this lethal problem. The various elements of the triple response can not give as much diagnostic accuracy by themselves as when they are combined. Staging plays a vital role and all the different diagnostic modalities efficiently bring the incidence down and improve the outcome of treatment. The role of breast clinics and education about the self-breast examination can also not be underestimated.
