About the book
Nails are the keratinous appendages of the skin, and as such may reflect the well-being of the individuals. "Nail Disorders" will be a book aiming at covering all the essential topics associated with nail abnormalities. The first section will cover the nail pigmentation disorders, while the second will deal with nail texture, thickness and shape anomalies – the underlying conditions and contemporary treatment strategies. The third section will focus on common tumors of the nail apparatus that commonly pose a diagnostic challenge to the clinicians. The fourth section will cover the topic of nail disorders related to a patient’s occupation and caused by psychological disorders. The fifth section will aim to shed light on nail clues to genetic syndromes, while the closing sixth section will describe nail involvement in common systemic and cutaneous diseases. My strong intention will be that this book becomes a concise compendium for healthcare practitioners and podologists dealing every day with nail disorders.
