About the book

Grain boundaries are characteristic microstructure features of the polycrystalline materials. They play an important role in dictating the mechanical and physical properties of nanocrystalline (NC) materials. Knowledge of grain boundary properties is crucial for many applications in the modern materials science. Therefore this book will be focused on the characterization of the grain boundaries and processes that occur directly at the boundary of grain boundaries such as migration, diffusion, sliding, precipitation and on the grain boundary effect on the physical properties of materials.
