Dr. Moulay Tahar Lamchich is a pioneering researcher in the management, supervision, and control of multi-source energy conversion systems and electrical machines. He completed his thesis in electromechanics in September 1991 and received his Ph.D. in July 2001. Dr. Lamchich is currently a Professor at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia at Marrakech (Morocco). He has published over fifty technical papers in reviews and international conferences. His main activity is based on short-circuit mechanical effects.

About the book

As the modern electromechanical drive systems are composed fundamentally of electrical machines, transformers, power electronic converters, sensors or observers, and management, supervision, and control methods, this book will be divided, and not limited, into three sections. This book will be the results of the contributions and scientific developments of many researches, which are in the majority focalized around the torque and speed control. Any research work related to new techniques and intelligent methods of torque control in various applications finds its natural place in this book. Priority will be given to research work with experimental validation and/or with the development of fundamental and original control techniques and methods. The first section will concern the research’s work devoted to developing optimal and intelligent techniques of speed and torque control. The second part relates to generators control systems used in various applications such as renewable energies, electric/hybrid vehicles, embedded systems, multi-sources systems, etc. The last part will cover the torque control for special machines used in various fields as well as computational tools and methods based on the reduction and the elimination of machine faults and noises, etc.

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: December 3rd 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Moulay Tahar Lamchich is a Professor at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia, Cadi Ayyad University at Marrakech (Morocco). He completed his thesis in electromechanics in September 1991 and received his Ph.D. in July 2001. His main activity is based on short-circuit mechanical effects in substation structures, control of different types of machine drives, static converters, active power filters. For more than tweenty years, his research interests have included renewable energies, particularly the control and supervision of hybrid and multiple source systems for decentralized energy production, and intelligent management of energy. He has published more than fifty technical papers in reviews and international conferences. With IntechOpen, he has published two chapters and was editor of the books 'Torque Control” and 'Harmonic Analysis”. He is also research team leader and promotor of several doctoral and professional trainings.
