About the book

Epoxy resins are a versatile group of materials. Their properties are augmented and applications widened manifolds by tailoring them as epoxy composites. Epoxy composites, in general, have low cost, good mechanical properties, adhesiveness, high specific strength, good heat and solvent resistance, light weight characteristics and functional properties. They also have high performance applications in marine, aerospace, coatings, paints, construction, packaging, furniture, automobile, biomedical, and microelectronic industries as well as some others.
This book is proposed to provide the current state-of-the-art in epoxy composites and their applications. The chapters that the book will cover are welcome in the format of an experimental research paper, review or minireview. The book will be targeting students, scientists and researchers, from academia and industry, and all those interested in polymers, composites, and nanocomposites.

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: January 15th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: March 15th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Dr. Eram Sharmin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. She obtained her PhD degree in Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) - A Central University, New Delhi, India, in the year 2007. She received her MSc degree in Organic Chemistry, in the year 2000, and BSc degree in Chemistry, in the year 1998, from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh (UP), India. She has previously worked as Senior Research Associate [Under Scientists’ Pool Scheme, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, India], Research Associate (CSIR, New Delhi), and Senior Research Fellow (CSIR, New Delhi), at Materials Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, JMI. She has more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books, and has presented more than 30 research papers in national and international conferences. Her research interests include the development of 'green” materials with applications as antimicrobial and protective coatings, films, hydrogels, and packaging materials.
