About the book

This book aims to elucidate the threats of Phytophthora as one of phytopathogens worldwide, where it causes a great damage to crops and other plants and therefore leads to high economic losses. Moreover, this book includes the recent geographical distribution of Phytophthora worldwide, the most common diseases which have been established, identification of Phytophthora using classical methods as well as molecular determination including that of pathogenic determinants, eco-friendly biocontrol of Phytophthora, complex infection of plants due to Phytophthora-plant pathogen co-infection, and finally, the effect of metals on saprophytic growth of Phytophthora.

This book intends to be a guideline for sustainable agriculture worldwide and a great push in the development of biocontrol approach. The chapters of this book will include the main factors, influence, prevalence and virulence progressing of Phytophthora especially in the cold regions worldwide. Reversible and irreversible mutations and their sites should be elucidated to enable biocontrol without adverse events.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mr. Josip Knapic

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copy-editing and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
