About the book

Service robots are a tremendously significant facet of modern technology. Currently, service robots are frequently utilized in manufacturing industries, warehouses, agriculture, retail stores, restaurants, hospitals, city streets, or as personal assistants. This book offers current research on this field including a mixture of case studies, new development, design and implementation of service robots, and future directions. In addition, this book covers state of the art in object recognition for warehouse and household applications, service robotic system design, human-robot interactions, navigation, and guidance systems. It allows for an extensive look into recent advances in a rapidly growing technological field that allows readers to understand the development of service robots and apply them to their own working fields. The multidisciplinary holistic approach of this book hopes to be noteworthy in the design and development of service robotics for academicians, researchers, and engineers working on robotics, automation, and control systems. The main motive of this book is to present the latest research in the development of service robots.

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: June 13th 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Mohammad Asaduzzaman Chowdhury is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh. His research interests are Engineering Tribology, Surface Engineering, Automation and Robotics, Coating Technology, Polymer and Composite Materials, Characterization of Materials. He is working as an Editorial Board Member of large number of International Reputed Journals. Currently, he is working as an editor, reviewer of many ISI and Scopus Indexed International Journals and books. He has also published many research and review papers in refereed International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is working as a consultant, advisor and expert member of many government and autonomous organizations. His teaching & research experience about 21 years. He is involved himself with different cultural and social activities. He has engaged himself to write the articles, stories, lyrics and poems in different newspapers and relevant media.
