About the book

Quantum information is a new information technology based on quantum mechanics, which puts the "state" of a quantum system into its physical information, encodes information, calculates and transmits it. Quantum information technology mainly includes quantum computing and quantum communications. Because of their potential, application value and great scientific significance, they are attracting widespread attention from the academic and the industry. In order to describe the basic concept and principle of quantum computing and quantum communications, this book tries to connect the top-level experts in this field around the world and intends to provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art in quantum information technology, which covers the wide gamut of important multidisciplinary topics including quantum algorithms, quantum computer, quantum code, post-quantum cryptography, quantum key distribution, quantum teleportation, and so on.

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: February 8th 2021

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

About the editor

Yongli Zhao

Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Yongli Zhao received his Ph.D. degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, in 2010. Now, he is a full professor of the State Key Laboratory of Information Photonics and Optical Communications at BUPT. During Jan. 2016 to Jan. 2017, he was a visiting associate professor at UC Davis. Now, he is a senior member of IEEE and MIET member of IET. His current research focuses on quantum key distribution networking, elastic optical networks, data center networking, machine learning in optical networks, optical network security, and software-defined optical networks. In the past five years, Dr. Zhao has hosted and taken part in more than 30 research projects, including the National High Technology Research and Development Program in China ("863" program), the National Basic Research Program of China ("973" program), and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects. He has been granted fourteen awards from the government, and six awards from the academic. In 2013, he got the support of Youth Talent Plan Beijing City. In 2018, he got the support of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars in China. Up to now, Dr. Zhao has published more than 380 international journal and conference papers. He has published 8 books and 3 independent chapters in different English books. He has given 24 keynotes and invited talks on different international academic conferences. He has granted 50 patents, including 6 PCT patents. Dr. Zhao also participated in many international standards works, and he has submitted 27 drafts to ITU-T and IETF.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
