About the book
Micromachined ultrasound transducers are the key components and enablers for many of today's medical, industrial, and consumer electronic devices. This book aims to provide its reader with a comprehensive blueprint and also an in-depth description of how the state-of-art micromachined transducer is modeled, processed, designed, and integrated with supporting circuitry. Several key applications are expected to be presented to the reader with greater breadth and depth. The main focus of the book is envisioned to contain the applications of specific types of ultrasound transducers, different types of medical transducers, from the traditional piezoelectric transducers to the emerging capacitive micromachined ultrasound transducers (CMUTs). It also welcomes contributions in the fields of acoustic transducers for RF communication, applications including surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic (wave) device, MEMS oscillators, AlN based transducers, MEMS microphone and speaker, etc. Lastly, contributions addressing emerging transducer technology is also expected.
