About the book
Energy consumption associated with the transportation sector has contributed to a world problem. The world’s energy demand is increasing every day and the problem of fossil fuel depletion is looming. These challenges have led to new approaches focusing on energy consumption management and alternative fuel sources so as to increase efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions respectively.
This book intends to provide the reader with a current overview that Biomass is the most common form of a renewable primary energy resource that can provide alternative transportation fuels. Biofuels are a variety of fuels that can be produced from agro-industrial waste, algae material or various lignocellulosic biomass sources. Production of bioethanol from biomass is a process of decreasing the consumption of crude oil and reduce emissions.
The aim and objectives are to illustrate the current status of ethanol production from different feedstocks and the state of technologies involved in ethanol production from such different feedstock.
