About the book

Ultra Wide Band (UWB) is a transmission technique using a very wide spectrum of frequencies that enables high-speed transfer of data, as such it has traditional applications in non-cooperative radar imaging and most recent applications target sensor data collection, precision locating and tracking applications.

The book is envisioned to contain contributions elaborating on the following crucial topics concerning the design and development of UWB communication Systems, analysis methods, computer aided design software for the development of UWB systems and devices, fabrication considerations and aspects of UWB systems, examples of UWB technologies, systems, communication ‎systems, radars and UWB radio frequency components and modules, system engineering methodology and tools, and future trends in development and design consideration of UWB technologies ‎and systems.
The book aims to provide useful information to electrical engineers, system engineers, communication engineers, mechanical engineers and researchers.

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Chapter proposals submitted and reviewed

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: September 25th 2020

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: December 14th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: February 12th 2021

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

About the editor

Albert Sabban

Dr. Albert Sabban received a BSc and MSc Magna Cum Laude in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Tel Aviv University, Israel, in 1976 and 1986, respectively. He also received an MBA from Haifa University, Israel, and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Colorado University at Boulder, USA, in 1991. Dr. Sabban’s reasearch interests include medical wearable and Internet of Things (IOT) systems, microwave engineering, green technologies, and communication and system engineering. In 1976 he joined Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. (RAFAEL) in Israel where he worked as a senior researcher, group leader, and project leader until 2007. From 2008 to 2010 he worked as a radio frequencey (RF) specialist and project leader at high-tech companies. Since 2004 he has served as a senior lecturer and researcher at colleges and universities across Israel. He has published more than 100 research papers and holds patents in the field of antennas. Dr. Sabban has written five books on wearable systems and wearable wideband antennas. He also wrote a book on electrmagnetics and microwave theory for graduate students as well as two book chapters on wearable microstrip antennas. Dr. Sabban serves as an editor of several books on wearable systems, green technologies, and antennas.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Jasna Bozic

As an Author Service Manager, my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
