About the book

Response surface is used in Science, Engineering and Technology to geometrically represent the response variable with respect to the response. Here the response is plotted as a function of representing the independent factors. The factors considered are to be independent and quantitative. The techniques and procedures used in response surface methodology have been demonstrated effective in meeting the test of constant improvements in many Science and Engineering fields throughout the most recent two decades. Researchers are using these techniques in many areas to solve problems and obtain the proper results. Mathematical and statistical knowledge is needed for the effective utilization of this technique.

Albeit numerous books have been composed regarding response surface method, they are basically written by analysts and mostly not appropriate for engineers. Response Surface Methodology in Engineering Science hopes to overcome this issue and will be suitable for the practicing engineers and scientists through utilizing measurable techniques and perusers will hopefully discover the ideas in this book both natural and straightforward. Key features that this book will cover are: basics of response surface methodology, implementation of response surface methodology for engineering science, case studies, application potentials, while the main topics will be response surface methodology, the analysis of second-order response surfaces, optimization using response surface, multiple performance optimization applications, experimental design for fitting response surfaces, industrial experimentation and analysis, application of response surface method for engineering science, response surface method and its applications in the service sector.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Romina Rovan

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
