About the book

Multiple neuroimaging metrics will be demonstrated in this book to identify and quantify significant and distinct brain alterations at function, microstructure, morphology and molecular scales in human brain with high sensitivity and specificity. These comprehensive imaging features could be combined to improve functional localization and differentiation accuracy. The aim of this book is thus intended to provide both beginners and experts in biomedical imaging and health care filed a broad and complete picture of the new developments with multiple metrics for improving disease identification, classification and therapeutic efficacy.

This book would hopefully capture the interests of colleagues and researchers interested in the areas of human brain mapping and functional probes, and could help convey the methodological and integrative perspectives of region-specific and network-based neuroimaging applications.
Thorough research and analyses of most upfront neuroimaging techniques and various in vivo applications of specific mapping of normal function and under diseases are the purpose of this book. This book would hopefully capture the interests of colleagues interested in neuroimaging principles and applications, research and developments, as well as disease diagnosis and treatment, and could help convey the methodological and developmental perspectives of brain function in the medical application and research field.

Publishing process

Book initiated and editor appointed

Date completed: June 16th 2020

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Chapter proposals submitted and reviewed

Deadline Extended: Open for Submissions

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: November 24th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: January 23rd 2021

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

About the editor

Yongxia Zhou

University of Southern California

Yongxia Zhou obtained a PhD from the University of Southern California in Biomedical Imaging in 2004. Her main research interest is in radiology and neuroscience applications. She had been trained and worked as a medical imaging scientist at several prestigious institutes including Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her research focuses on multimodal neuroimaging integration including MRI/PET and EEG/MEG instrumentation that makes the best use of multiple modalities to help interpret underlying disease mechanisms. She has authored six monograph books, and edited several books for well-known publishers including IntechOpen and Nova Science. She has published more than 100 papers and presentations in many reputed international journals and conferences, and served as reviewer and editor for several well-known associations.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Sara Debeuc

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
