About the book
ADHD is a mental disorder that interferes with psychological development of children, adolescents and adults. It is a disorder with vivid history of changing disorders name, diagnostic criteria, and a clinical point of view. ADHD was considered as a disorder reserved for children, for decades. Only recently there is no doubt that it could be present also in adults, but with different clinical presentation. Thus, it is of high importance to know how the clinical picture is changing along with the development. The most impairing symptom in children is hyperactivity, which is seldomly seen in adults. In adulthood hyperactivity changes into inner restlessness resulting in diverse clinical presentations. Comorbidity is a rule, especially if ADHD is not early recognised and treated. New genetic and neuroimaging studies bring deeper and more concise knowledge on the disorder aetiology. Studies also show that nutrition is important and could help in lowering symptomatology at least in some cases.
The book will present up to date knowledge on mentioned ADHD topics in order to be implemented in every day clinical practice.
